Besides regular anti-corrosive and protective usages of our productions, there are lots of special usages which all are based on our patents and researches.

Below are some of most important of those:

Repair and protection of the crude oil and oil derivatives storage metal tanks floors:

The bottom of crude oil and oil derivatives storage metal tanks will rust  and fail due to the presence of water, if not properly protected, and the bottom plates will inevitably have to be replaced which impose heavy costs of buying special metal plates, replacement wages and loss of prospective profit for being out of service . Even after plate replacement  if it is not protected with an appropriate coating , this destructive process will be repeated.

Based on its patented invention, SBP Company has used Sarothane® coating to repair and protect the damaged plates of the tank bottoms, which replaces the time and cost-consuming process of re-bottoming. So far, more than 10 tanks have been repaired by Sarothane® coating with this method and they are back in service in a very short time, the first of which dates back to 18 years ago which still is sound.

Airport aprons concrete surfaces repair and protection:

The airport aprons are mostly made of reinforced concrete. In areas where winters are below zero degrees centigrade, water penetration and freezing cause damage to the concrete and rusting of the reinforcement intensifies the damage to the concrete. Released concrete particles entering the aircraft engine can lead to FOD and disable the aircraft engine.

Based on its patented invention, SBP Company has carried out many successful and sustainable projects of more than 100,000 square meters, using its unique methods and production coatings to repair damaged surfaces and protect sound and repaired concrete surfaces, the first of which dates back to 20 years ago which have been very successful in hot summers and icy winters.

Repair and waterproofing potable water concrete storage tanks:

Concrete structures of drinking water storage tanks often leak, and valuable drinking water goes into the ground and is wasted. All grades of Sarothane®  coatings have strong sealing properties. On the other hand, high adhesion to the concrete surface simulates a kind of concrete welding in cracked areas which results in  repairing the concrete damages. While hygienic  considerations prohibit using many kinds of coatings for sealing and repairing drinking water concrete tanks, a special grade of Sarothane® coatings has hygienic properties for dealing with drinking water which meets requirements. The first repaired concrete tank by SBP dates back to about 15 years ago and has been used successfully in this field.

Field joints, valves, fittings and pipelines protective coatings:

Metal buried  pipes are usually coated in a pipe factory to prevent corrosion and welded to each other at the installation site and these joints should be covered after welding. In many cases, strip wrappings are used to insulate these areas, which requires special equipment  and precise  methods to apply, and failure to follow them properly can lead to problems in these areas. On the other hand, it is often impossible to insulate valves and fittings due to irregular shapes with tape covers. Also, the pipes may be damaged during transportation, installation and even after staying under the ground for a while and need to be repaired.
SBP coatings, having very easy use in harsh weather conditions and a wide temperature range from -10 degrees to +50 degrees centigrade, have been used successfully for more than 25 years, so that they can be applied only with a brush and rollers without the need for special devices while they could be applied with most modern equipments as well. During this time, thousands of field joints and valves and several kilometers of pipes have been successfully repaired or covered by this coating so far. Also, in many cases, Sarothane® products were used because no other product could be applied due to high humidity and the only possible option was Sarothane®.
In many cases, the coated valves in the factory have been damaged during shipment and need to be replaced when they reach their destination, but the Sarothane® coating is very suitable for the things to be transported due to its impact resistance and flexibility as well as excellent adhesion properties.

Protection of metal and concrete facilities exposed to seawater and splash zones:

Splash zones are the most corrosive areas in marine industries and protection of these areas is always a problem. Sarothane®, in the south of Iran, is still healthy after 20 years and blasting the coating for periodic maintenance repainting has not been practical since then according to high adhesion properties of Sarothane®.

Considering the more than 20 years of successful history of Sarothane® coatings in the southern regions of Iran to protect concrete and metal surfaces and unparalleled resistance of Sarothane® coatings to saline up to saturated salt water  in Iranian industries, this durable coating could be  as a successful solution for maintaining strategic structures in hot and humid regions.

Repair of strategic concrete structures:

Concrete is damaged for various reasons and its repair and reconstruction usually does not have good results, especially when the reinforcement is damaged and rusts. Thus, demolition and construction of new structures is a safer method in some situations.
According to the patent, SBP company has a special method of repairing damaged concrete surfaces, which has been used in several projects, one of which is the repair and reconstruction of concrete surfaces of one of the power plants, and after about 15 years it has good stability and resistance. The special advantages of this method are fast setting and no need to re-protect the concrete because these repairs themselves stop the penetration of water into the structure. These repairs can even be done underwater.

Electrical insulation for high voltage electrical installations:

In high voltage electrical industries, the use of high voltage switchboard mats to protect human lives is common and necessary. Also, using proper electrical insulation can prevent short circuits between parts in humid and humid areas.
Based on a patent for insulation of 20 and 63 kV power station components in the humid coastal areas of southern Iran, SBP company has performed several projects, all of which have been successful.
The advantage of using this coating instead of insulated mats is that this coating adheres directly to the concrete surface of the power station floor and does not have the risk of displacement compared to insulated mats.
Manufacturing of pin insulators could be done by Sarothane® polymers, which have more advantages than porcelain and glass.

Repair and protection of dam surfaces and overflows:

Dam overflows can be damaged due to cavitation and the concrete surface can be damaged  due to water pressure. This case was done in one of the biggest dams in Iran which due to extensive surface damage, there was no possibility of overflow about 20 years ago, based on one of the inventions of SBP company and the overflow was repaired with Sarothane® polymer material. Also, the gallery section of the dam, which had a leakage, was repaired by injecting polymeric insulation materials, which has been one of the strategic works done in the dam industry.

Covering concrete walls with waterproofing and preventing energy exchange (in the research stage):

Currently, various methods are used in the world to prevent energy exchange, and SBP has used a method with unique results, but it needs to be completed and presented to consumers on a large scale.
During one of the refinery oil tank repair projects in the south of  Iran, as an experiment, the interior wall of a workers' rest house was painted with special materials. The room was later known as the "Cool Room". When the power went out in the summer and nobody could stay in the rest of the rooms after a few minutes, people could stay in the "Cool Room" for hours. This experiment was used once again in several villas in northern Iran, with the difference that it was used to prevent the penetration of rainwater inside the building. This not only prevented the penetration of water into the building, but also drastically reduced the exchange of energy and in summer and winter the air inside the villa remains favorable.

Rehabilitation of corroded oil, water and gas pipes (in the research stage):

Metal burial pipes are usually coated to prevent corrosion, which in many cases, lack proper coating ,leads to a decrease in the thickness of the pipe due to corrosion and eventually creation of holes and leakage of inside  liquid or gas the pipe to the environment. In many cases, in addition to the destructive effects on the environment, it also has the risk of explosion. To solve these problems, pipes must usually be covered by other pipes as sleeves or be replaced partially or even the whole.
SBP company, due to one of its inventions, did research to repair damaged pipes without the need for welding, which can be dangerous, and the initial laboratory results were very successful.

Electrical conductive coatings for clean rooms (in the research stage):

Some industries use conductive flooring as well as copper wiring on the surface to transfer to ground to avoid the accumulation of static electricity. Sbp company has designed a kind of conductive coating for clean rooms, which has been used in several clean room projects, and according to experts in this field, it has performed better than famous imported types. The main difference between this coating and other types is that usually this type of flooring is in roll form, while Sarothane® coating is in liquid form which cures after application and makes a solid layer.

2-layer industrial coatings (in the research stage):

Industrial paintings are usually a three-layer system that is widely used to protect structures against rust. SBP company has made one-layer and two-layer protective coatings and their difference is color stability. In terms of quality, single-layer systems alone can protect structures against corrosion and the useful life of this type of coating in humid and hot areas has been at least 10 years.

Thermal coatings without the need for surface preparation (in the research stage):

Industrial regular paints and coatings can usually withstand temperatures below 100 ° C. Also, industrial paints need proper blasting and preparation for adequate adhesion. In some industries, it is not possible to prepare the surface properly or they are constantly faced with temperatures above 100 degrees, and there are special expensive coatings to deal with them.
Sbp company has designed a special type of polymer that can be economical and  durable in long term  without special preparation

Fireproof coatings (in the research stage):

These types of coatings are mandatory in a variety of strategic and important or high-rise structures. SBP company has designed an easy-to-apply paint that lasts for more than 60 minutes against cellulose and hydrocarbon fires and has acceptable initial results.
